This award-winning traditional farmhouse cheddar has been crafted by hand at Batch Farm in Somerset for more than 50 years.
The farm is run by Fred Gould while his sister, Jean Turner, is in charge of cheese-making – in fact, she is the longest serving active woman in Traditional Cheddar Cheese making!
Using milk from their 260 Friesian cows, Gould’s make around 140 tonnes of West Country Farmhouse Cheddar in traditional 27kg cylinders.
The cheddar is available in various strengths, from mild and mature to extra tasty and also various flavours – chilli, garlic and mixed herb; cracked black pepper; spring onion or tomato & basil are just a few of the flavours on offer.
The cheeses are multi award-winning, most recently winning gold at the British Cheese Awards.
