Quite an exciting week up ahead on the vegetable front market fans. Over farm will have their Asparagus in stock so supplies will be plentiful and good value. They will also have the first tomatoes of the season. There’s been a lot of very nice purple sprouting around as well recently…
After my triumphant squash roasting initiation last year I have moved this aspect of my culinary repertoire forward leaps and bounds over the last couple of months. I have had to come to terms with the fact that my lack of confidence in the roasting department was really down to a lack of adventurousness and the only way to overcome this has been through practice! Believe it or not I realised I even had a bit of a hang up about roasting potatoes, never mind roasting vegetables!
We’ll be having the biggest market of the year so far at the Designer Outlet on Sunday with over 25 stalls in attendance. It has been another excellent year of trading for the local farmers and food producers during the market’s 10th year and it continues to build year on year.
I managed a personal triumph in the kitchen this week as I overcame what had developed into a weird procrastinating inertia around roasting a squash! …
