Where to celebrate summer in Stroud…

Take the kids on an ‘Odyssey, a magical journey’ around Stroud on 8th & 9th July at the Stroud Children’s Festival. Incorporating the Festival of Nature, this will be a weekend-long series of workshops, story telling and activities for children and families, celebrating both nature and literature. Celebrate nature all summer long with Stroud Nature 2017. Running until 31st August, the programme of events brings you a number of activities designed to reconnect people with nature. The highlight is the Festival of Nature on 9th July which takes place at Stratford Park. (stroudnature.org)

The annual Stroud Show returns to Stratford Park on 15th July with vintage steam engines, traditional Punch & Judy shows, rare breed displays and a handicrafts and horticultural tent. Held over August Bank Holiday, the annual Stroud Fringe Festival is a free event that transforms Stroud into a three-day long music and arts venue. Street entertainment, live performance, vibrant music – it’s happening all over Stroud from 25th-27th August. (stroudfringe.co.uk)
