We’ll be having the biggest market of the year so far at the Designer Outlet on Sunday with over 25 stalls in attendance. It has been another excellent year of trading for the local farmers and food producers during the market’s 10th year and it continues to build year on year.

This year’s December markets are brimming with seasonal fayre and no Swindon Christmas dinner should be without some proper fresh sprouts. The much maligned sprout is the poor victim of generations of overcooking. a lightly boiled sprout is absolutely delicious and VERY healthy of course, being packed full of good things. For the Christmas dinner the sprouts should be prepared early but not put on to boil until everything else is either ready or nearly ready, thereby avoiding the situation where you have to keep them cooking or “they’ll go cold!”

Pippin Doughnuts return this week and will have a special Christmas flavour while there will be mince pies, Christmas cake, holly and mistletoe from Jolly Holly, table decorations from Julian Harvard, the Glastonbury cheeseboard, Free range meats from Hinton Marsh farm and Leighfield Lodge Farm, free range eggs, wines, and a guest stall appearance from the Ruby Fat Cow charity, plus lots more at the designer outlet from 10-4pm
